Rachel Tate doesn’t have a high opinion of cops, especially since her abusive ex-husband was one. So when Officer Chase Williams moves upstairs, Rachel’s peaceful solitude is gone. He stomps above her head at all hours of the day. He plays his music loud. And outside, he takes up two spaces with his patrol car. Secretly, she calls him “Officer Obnoxious”, and she wishes he would move.

Chase Williams, on the other hand, is glad to have Rachel as a neighbor. Not only is she gorgeous, but she has the most beautiful voice. Every morning, he hears her singing through their thin apartment walls. But no matter what he does, he can’t seem to make inroads with her. She seems to hate him for some reason, and Chase can’t figure out why.

When Rachel’s ex-husband gets out of jail, she knows he’ll come looking for her. Adam promised he would, and Rachel doesn’t believe for a second that Adam is ready to let her go.

The cops, as expected, are no help. As long as Adam doesn’t break the law, what can they do? Chase, however, is different. He’s the only police officer who takes her concerns seriously. Rachel appreciates that.

But can she trust a cop to keep her safe? Or more importantly, can she trust him with her heart?

SAFE WITH ME is the first story in the Turtle Creek series.
